WHEREAS, recovery from substance use disorders is possible through a variety of treatment resources, recovery support programs, and many other pathways; and,
WHEREAS, millions of people across the United States are living happy, healthy, and productive lives in recovery; and,
WHEREAS, a community of recovery is beneficial to overcoming misconceptions and helping people achieve long-term recovery; and,
WHEREAS, on September 17th, 2022, the seventh annual Pittsburgh Recovery Walk will take place across the region to celebrate the process and beauty of recovery from substance use disorder; and,
WHEREAS, Stacie Brown has been a remarkable Recovery Advocate in her role at the Allegheny County Health Department and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Adam Beers has been an innovative Recovery Pathway Supporter in his role at Sage’s Army and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Fischetti has been a dedicated Recovery Caregiver in her role at White Oak Wellness and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Stacie Brown, Adam Beers, and Kelly Fischetti have been presented with Pittsburgh Recovery Awards by the 2022 Pittsburgh Recovery Walk;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the month of September 2022 to be “Addiction Recovery Month” in the City of Pittsburgh, and recognizes Stacie Brown, Adam Beers, and Kelly Fischetti for their extraordinary efforts to support recovery in our region.
