WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has duly enacted Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, which protects and preserves Historic Structures, Districts, Sites, and Objects; and

WHEREAS, Denise H. Holland has nominated the Murray Hill Expansion, located at 1163 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-225) and 1165 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-227) for designation as a historic district expansion; and

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owner and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has voted to recommend that City Council designate the Murray Hill Expansion, located at 1163 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-225) and 1165 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-227) as a historic district expansion; and

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owner and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has voted to recommend that City Council designate the Murray Hill Expansion, located at 1163 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-225) and 1165 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-227) as a historic district expansion; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the public concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh finds that the aforementioned Murray Hill Expansion, located at 1163 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-225) and 1165 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-227) should be preserved;

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     Pursuant to the provisions of Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby designates the Murray Hill Expansion, located at 1163 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-225) and 1165 Murray Hill Avenue (85-K-227) as a historic district expansion, 14^th Ward, City of Pittsburgh.
