WHEREAS, The Reformed Presbyterian Woman’s Association was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1897, to help care for widows and orphans, as well as the elderly and ailing; and,

WHEREAS, The Reformed Presbyterian Women’s Association, doing business as the reformed Presbyterian Home, is a charitable non-profit institution with the mission of providing a supporting living environment in a manner consistent with the affection, honor, and care due to elders ; and,
WHEREAS, 125 years later, Reformed Presbyterian Woman’s Association now provides supportive services to seniors in the community, and employs over 100 dedicated employees; and,
WHEREAS, This year, Reformed Presbyterian Women’s Association will celebrate 125 years of a rich and storied history, and today is the kick-off for the celebration events it will host throughout the year; and,
WHEREAS, It is the people of Reformed Presbyterian Women’s Association, past and present who have served its residents and this community for 125 years, and will continue to do so; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Reformed Presbyterian Woman’s Association for 125 years of its devoted and compassionate employees and volunteers who selflessly care for their residents and families; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, June 18, 2022, to be “Reformed Presbyterian Women’s Association 125th Anniversary Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
