Title: WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that works to recruit, train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow, including trendsetters, elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape; and,

WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that works to recruit, train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow, including trendsetters, elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape; and,

WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council recruits individuals and equips them with the skills necessary to be civic leaders in their communities and workplaces and guarantees no financial barriers to participants through New Leaders Council Institutes, which are recognized as the nation's premiere progressive training programs; and,

WHEREAS, New Leaders Council graduates comprise an ever-expanding group of diverse progressive leaders who are rising to the top of their respective fields, creating an exciting network of highly-skilled individuals who collaborate across sectors to improve the progressive infrastructure and ensure strong democracy, social justice, and equal opportunity; and,

WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council Institutes were held among 50 chapters nationwide, training many new leaders across sectors joining more than 10,000 alumni across the globe; and

WHEREAS, a committed all-volunteer board of Sarah Boal, Albert Garcia, Traci Johnson, Marcus Gaines Cherry, Emily Neff, Tess Wilson, Aurora Ortiz, Kiandra Foster, and Brian D'Souza worked tirelessly to expand the New Leaders Council Chapter in Pittsburgh in 2022 and provide engaging programs through which the fellows cultivated skills in fundraising, communications, and more, and learned about their own career and personal goals; and,

WHEREAS, in June, the New Leaders Council of Pittsburgh's 2022 cohort of fellows will graduate. Those graduating fellows are Alexandra Balouris, Alka Singh, Ashley Shafer, Kayla King Scott, Lea Lupkin, Matt Singer, Meg O'Brien, Neelam Dwivedi, Renaldo Pearson, Tierra Bradford, and Trevor Stoll.
