Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to acknowledge and consent to a Partial Assignment and Assumption Agreement between Pennsylvania American Water and the Borough of Brentwood, related to a December 1, 1949 Service Area Agreement between the Allegheny County Sanitation Authority (ALCOSAN), the Borough of Brentwood, and the City of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania American Water seeks to purchase and operate the Borough of Brentwood's wastewater collection system.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Pennsylvania American Water and the Borough of Brentwood have asked the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Sanitation Authority (ALCOSAN), and Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) to acknowledge and consent to a Partial Assignment and Assumption Agreement between Pennsylvania American Water and the Borough of Brentwood through which Pennsylvania American Water will purchase and operate Brentwood's wastewater collection system. Pennsylvania American Water and the Borough of Brentwood have also entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement for the wastewater collection system.
Section 2. Pennsylvania American Water and the Borough of Brentwood have asked the City of Pittsburgh to acknowledge and consent to this Partial Assignment and Assumption Agreement because the City of Pittsburgh was a party to the related December 1, 1949 Service Area Agreement between the Allegheny County Sanitation Authority (ALCOSAN), the Borough of Brentwood, and the City of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania American Water and the Borough of Brentwood have also asked PWSA to acknowledge and consent to this Partial Assignment and Assumption Agreement because PWSA assumed responsibility for the City's water and sewer systems under the Capital Lease Agreement between the City of Pittsburgh and PWSA effective July 27, 1995.
