WHEREAS, the 48th annual celebration of National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) will be held Sunday, January 30 to Saturday, February 5, 2022; and,

WHEREAS, Catholic schools across the City of Pittsburgh will be participating in CSW with daily themes to honor their parish, community, students, the nation, vocations, faculty, staff and volunteers, and family; and,
WHEREAS, the schools of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh play an important role in fostering communion and community, echoing the Gospel to gather all nations in Christ, with a great sense of compassionate service to all; and,
WHEREAS, Catholic Schools are committed to excellence in its spiritual and academic goals and embrace the Church’s understanding of the inherent dignity of the human person, recognizing that all are made in God’s image; and,
WHEREAS, we acknowledge the Catholic Schools in the City of Pittsburgh who pride themselves in providing a well-rounded education to all students, with service to others as a central aspect to their training; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh for its commitment to excellence in spiritual and academic instruction; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare January 30 - February 5, 2022 to be “Catholic Schools Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.
