Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh and Suphitsara Buttra-Coleman, for the creation and installation of public art at Chartiers Spray Park, at a cost not to exceed Eleven Thousand Dollars ($11,000.00).

WHEREAS, Chartiers Spray Park is undergoing renovations as a project of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the budget for this renovation includes funds for the inclusion of a new piece of public art to be made onsite; and
WHEREAS, the Department of City Planning includes a Public Art & Civic Design division that administers the implementation of City of Pittsburgh public art projects; and
WHEREAS, on September 17, 2021, the Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works and the Public Art & Civic Design Division, released a Request for Proposals to solicit for the coordination of the design, fabrication, and installation of this public art project; and
WHEREAS, a selection committee chose Suphitsara Buttra-Coleman for the public art project implementation.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh and Suphitsara Buttra-Coleman, for the creation and installation of public art at Chartiers Spray Park. The total not to exceed cost is Eleven Thousand ($11,000.00) Dollars.
Funds are available in the Splash Zones (BOND) line item, 2021 DELIVERABLE:
