WHEREAS, Westwood Oakwood Athletic Association (WOAA) is wholly dedicated to providing area youth with supervised, fundamental learning experiences and by maintaining an active participating membership in youth programs as administered by the Westwood Oakwood Athletic Association; and,
Body
WHEREAS, WOAA provides area youth with invaluable life lessons such as sportsmanship, integrity, confidence, responsibility, respect and perseverance; and,
WHEREAS, WOAA serves the Westwood neighborhood and surrounding areas of the City of Pittsburgh and conducts its activities in the City of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, the Westwood Oakwood Athletic Association desires to hold a “Cash Bash” on March 19, 2022, for the purpose of raising funds to continue serving area youth; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize Westwood Oakwood Athletic Association to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
