Title: WHEREAS, Thomas Tripp Kondrich began his Scouting journey in Boy Scout Troop 23, Edgewood , PA, Lackawanna District of the Laurel Highlands Council. In Troop 23, Thomas served as Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Chaplain's Aid and Quartermaster.; and,

WHEREAS, Thomas Tripp Kondrich began his Scouting journey in Boy Scout Troop 23, Edgewood , PA, Lackawanna District of the Laurel Highlands Council. In Troop 23, Thomas served as Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Chaplain’s Aid and Quartermaster.; and,

WHEREAS, following Scouting’s goals to develop leadership and citizenship through active involvement in community service projects, Thomas participated in a multitude of service projects and a variety of volunteer activities that included the Annual Edgewood Community Memorial Day Celebration and Service, the Edgewood Community Days, Scouting for Food, The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Christmas Gift Distribution and Clothing Drives, the  Annual Jubilarian Brunch, the Greater Swissvale Community Food Pantry and the Foundation of HOPE’s Clothing Closet. He was also actively involved as an Altar Server at St. Joseph the Worker and Word of God Catholic Parishes for over 10 years ;and,   

 

WHEREAS, Boy Scout’s highest honor is achieving the rank of Eagle Scout which represents the completion of rigorous physical, mental and community service requirements . Less than 5% of all Scouts achieve this rank. On May 13, 2021, Thomas Tripp Kondrich successfully completed all requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout. ;and,

 

WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout Project, Thomas raised the funds and in-kind donations to renovate the Greater Swissvale Community Food Pantry. He mobilized dozens of volunteers to paint the interior, build mobile food storage carts, hang new window treatments, obtain donated new signage and conduct a laundry detergent drive to support Food Pantry clients.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Thomas Tripp Kondrich for his commitment to his community and congratulates him on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday , January 11, 2021, to be “THOMAS TRIPP KONDRICH DAY ” in the City of Pittsburgh.
