Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Directors of the Departments of Finance, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Friends of Neill Log House, pursuant to which the Friends of Neill Log House will make renovations/capital improvements to the Neill Log House and will thereafter further assist with operation and maintenance of the Neill Log House and with the provision of related programs.

Body
WHEREAS, the Neill Log House is the oldest existing residential structure in Pittsburgh. Located in the City's Squirrel Hill neighborhood, it was designated a Historic Landmark in 1977. The Neill family lived in it from 1774 to 1795 on 262 acres that is now part of Schenley Park, and

WHEREAS, in 2021, Friends of Neill Log House, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, was formed to stabilize, preserve historically, restore, renovate and be an advocate for and guardian for the historic Neill Log House located in Schenley Park and provide for the long - term maintenance and public and educational use of the structure and its site; and

WHEREAS, therefore, the Friends of Neill Log House and the City now wish to enter into an Agreement or Agreements to describe the parties' responsibilities for the upcoming construction project and to define the scope of services to be provided by Friends of Neill Log House thereafter.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Directors of the Departments of Finance, Parks and Recreation and Public Works to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Friends of Neill Log House, pursuant to which the Friends of Neill Log House will make renovations/capital improvements to the Neill Log House and will thereafter further assist with operation and maintenance of the Friends of Neill Log House and with the provision of related programs.
