Title: WHEREAS, born and raised in the Stanton Heights section of Pittsburgh, Eric Rosenthall is a true and beloved Pittsburgher. Growing up with his parents and two sisters and a brother, he graduated from Peabody High School in 1981 and from Duquesne University with a degree in teaching. He received his Principal Papers from Point Park University and his Superintendent Papers from California University of PA; and,

WHEREAS, working his way through the Pittsburgh Public School District, Eric Rosenthall worked as a Para Professional at McNaugher Education Center, a teacher at Arsenal Middle School, the Vice Principal at Schenley High School and Southbrook Middle School and ultimately becoming Principal of Greenfield K-8; and,

WHEREAS, Eric Rosenthall has been an extraordinary asset to the Greenfield neighborhood and the school community. His leadership style is one of personal connections, leading with his heart and treating each member of his staff, each student, and each parent with respect and concern for their unique situation. Mr. Rosenthall takes responsibility for the school's successes and failures, putting the needs of others before his own. He is known for his fairness and consistent style, and has been and extraordinary leader, educator and friend; and,

WHEREAS, married to Christina since 1996 and the father of one son, Alex, Mr. Rosenthall will be retiring from the Pittsburgh Public Schools after 30 years of dedicated service. He plans to write a book about his and Christina's travels ..and maybe even work at the Meadows!

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Eric Rosenthall for 30 years of superlative service and dedication to the students of the Pittsburgh Public Schools and most recently, the students, parents and teachers of Greenfield K-8 and congratulates him on the occasion of his retirement; and,
