WHEREAS, The Carrick Veterans Association (CVA) is wholly dedicated to serving local veterans of the armed forces and honoring their service to our Country; and,

WHEREAS, CVA provides no cost monthly meals for Carrick veterans that fosters fellowship and community; and,
WHEREAS, CVA’s monthly dinners also serve as an opportunity to speak about and connect veterans to services and resources available to them; and,
WHEREAS, The Carrick Veterans Association desires to offer gift cards as a raffle prize during a blood drive for the purpose of raising funds to continue serving area veterans; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize the Carrick Veterans Association to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
