Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of the Department of Public Safety to enter into Professional Services Agreements with Animal Friends and Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh for services related to the City’s Spay and Neuter Program, at a cost not to exceed One Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($140,000.00) over two years.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into Professional Services Agreements with Animal Friends and Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh for implementation of the City’s Spay and Neuter Program whereby the City shall reimburse said private vendors for spay and neuter services performed upon animals owned by, or in the care of, City of Pittsburgh residents. The total cost of the Spay and Neuter program for said Agreements authorized hereunder shall not exceed the aggregate of One Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($140,000) over two years.
Section 2. The City Controller shall encumber funds for said Agreements, subject to the amount of funds to be appropriated by City Council in respective budget years, chargeable to and payable from the following accounts:
2022:
Animal Friends: $35,000.00 from 11101.280000.53.53905.2022
Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh: $35,000.00 from 11101.280000.53.53905.2022
2023:
Animal Friends: $35,000.00 from 11101.280000.53.53905.2023
Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh: $35,000.00 from 11101.280000.53.53905.2023
Section 3. Said Agreements shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor.
