WHEREAS, The Shade Tree Commission was established in 1998 and is tasked with increasing public education and support for urban forestry, and the Shade Tree Commission directs expenditures of the Shade Tree Trust Fund (Resolution 490 of 2020), controlled by the Department of Public Works (DPW); and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 531 of 1998, effective September 14, 1998, monies deposited in the Shade Tree Trust Fund "shall be used by the Department of Public Works to cover any and all expenses associated with, including, but not limited to salaries, premium pay, supplies, materials, and other expenses incurred exclusively during the implementation of tree-related projects, programs, or promotions recommended affirmatively by the Shade Tree Commission"; and

WHEREAS, the Shade Tree Commission has now approved certain expenditures in connection with work performed by TREE PITTSBURGH, and the parties now wish to enable reimbursement/payment to TREE PITTSBURGH for that work.


Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the Shade Tree Commission using funds of the Shade Tree Trust Fund (Resolution 490 of 2020), controlled by the Department of Public Works (DPW), to enter into a Cooperation Agreement for Tree-Related Activities and Services with Tree Pittsburgh not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand, Seven Hundred Thirty...
