Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Directors of the Department of Public Works and the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City, to enter into a Lease Agreement or Agreements with Steamfitters Local Union 449 to allow the City to lease certain real property for use as Pittsburgh Bureau of Police facilities for a term of sixty-four (64) months at a total cost not to exceed Three Million One Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Fifty-Four Dollars and Sixty-Four Cents ($3,149,054.64), excluding utilities.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Steamfitters Local Union 449 (the “Lessor”) is the owner of certain real property located at 1459 and 1517 Woodruff Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 (the “Leased Premises”); and

 

WHEREAS, the City is in need of facilities to support the operations of the Bureau of Police, and the City wishes to enter into a Lease Agreement with the Lessor for the Leased Premises, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in such Lease Agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, the Leased Premises shall consist of warehouse space of approximately 32,000 square feet, which shall be leased beginning on December 1, 2021, for a term of sixty-four (64) months, and administrative space of approximately 17,487 square feet, which shall be leased beginning on April 1, 2022, for a term of sixty (60) months. 

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Public Works are hereby authorized to enter into a Lease Agreement with Lessor to allow the City to lease the Leased Premises for use as Pittsburgh Bureau of Police facilities, for a term of sixty-four (64) months, at a cost not to exceed Three Million One Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Fifty-Four Dollars and Sixty-Four Cents ($3,149,054.64), excluding utilities, to be paid from the following accounts:

Section 2.                     The Lease Agreement will include an option for the City to renew for up to an additional sixty (60) months.

 

Section 3.                     Said agreement and agreements shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form.
