WHEREAS, shaped by the experience of having her youngest daughter hospitalized after birth for an extended period of time, Jan transitioned careers in order to help change communications between parents in need of services and the non-profit community. She worked in non-profits before heading up Contact Pittsburgh, the Crisis and Suicide Prevention provider where immediate emotional support, crisis intervention and suicide prevention was available; and,

WHEREAS, in 2007, Jan Glick became the CEO of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, the region's premier evidenced based youth mentoring agency where the is mission to create and support one to one mentoring relationships so that youth reach their full potential. During Jan Glick's tenure, her focus has been on children who are historically underserved. She served on the BBBS National Leadership Council for 4 years. Under her leadership, the agency served approximately 900 -1400 children annually and doubled the number of children served in the agency's site based programs She took the agency from struggling financially to being fiscally well positioned and then successfully launched Mentor 2.0, Bigs in Blue, Workplace Mentoring, Sports Buddies and the soon to be LGBTQA+ youth program while winning the National BBBS of America Agency of the Year Award twice and multiple off-year quality and gold standard awards; and,

WHEREAS, Jan Glick will be retiring from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh on November 24, 2021, and will be spending more time with her husband, Dr. Harold (Chick) Glick and their children and grandchildren.
