WHEREAS, born in 1982 and raised in Hazelwood and Greenfield, Christopher Ribarchak attended St. Steven’s Elementary School and Brashear High School and was the General Manager of the Franklin Inn Restaurant for many years; and,

WHEREAS, Chris played baseball with the Greenfield Baseball Association and, following in the footsteps of his father, came back to coach his son Chris. He also coached Thunder T Ball and coach pitch for 3 years, coached Minor League Rangers for 2 years, coached 8U Summer and Fall Travel Teams and served as Vice President of the Greenfield Baseball Association; and,
WHEREAS, Chris was an integral part of the Greenfield PTO family who volunteered for every event that occurred at the school, like the School Picnic and the Pumpkin Patch. He showed his true community passion and commitment during the pandemic by helping to organize free lunches weekly at Hammer Field for the families of Greenfield; and,
WHEREAS, Chris Ribarchak was an extraordinary man who took pride in family, community and school, shining particularly in his role as a parent. He was a role model and embodied the values of a strong, loving, giving and principled man. Married to the love of his life, Aimme Hatala Ribarchak, and the father of son Christopher, a 5th grader at Greenfield Elementary School, Chris Ribarchak passed away in September 2021, leaving an impact of service, love, trust and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby respectfully honor the memory of Christopher Ribarchak who gave so much to his community, to the Greenfield Baseball Association, to Greenfield Elementary School and to his loving and devoted family.
