Title: WHEREAS, Reverend Archie D. Perrin Jr. was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to the late Archie Perrin Sr. and Iola Perrin. The family relocated to Pittsburgh, PA, where he attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools and graduated from South Hills High School Hills High School. He graduated from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, N.C. with a BA of Science Degree in Mathematics. He later attended Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. Where he received his Masters Degree in Education and School Administration; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Archie D. Perrin Jr. was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to the late Archie Perrin Sr. and Iola Perrin. The family relocated to Pittsburgh, PA, where he attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools and graduated from South Hills High School Hills High School. He graduated from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, N.C. with a BA of Science Degree in Mathematics. He later attended Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. Where he received his Masters Degree in Education and School Administration; and,

WHEREAS, he was employed in the Duquesne Public School District from 1974-1996 as a Math Teacher, Elementary and Secondary Principal, Campus Principal and Assistant Superintendent. In 1996 he relocated to the Wilkinsburg School District, and served there as Junior/Senior High School Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and in 2006 became Superintendent of the District, the position from which he would retire in 2010; and,

 

WHEREAS, on May 17, 1989, he was called to serve as pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Duquesne, PA. Under the leadership of the Holy Spirit through Pastor Perrin, the Church has grown in membership and discipleship; and,   

 

WHEREAS, Pastor Perrin has been married to his wife Rev. Carolyn Perrin for over 46 years. They are the proud parents of 4 daughters and grandparents of 5 grandchildren; and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Reverend Perrin for his 32 years of pastoral leadership and also commend Macedonia Baptist Church for 100 years serving as a place of worship; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, September 18, 2021, to be “Reverend Archie Perrin Jr. Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
