Title: WHEREAS, since grade school, Marianne Muraska lived a life of service. She began tutoring her peers in mathematics and graduated from Holy Innocents High School where she was her class secretary; and,

WHEREAS, since grade school, Marianne Muraska lived a life of service. She began tutoring her peers in mathematics and graduated from Holy Innocents High School where she was her class secretary; and,

WHEREAS, her deep sense of service is rooted in family values which are demonstrated through her devotion to the church, first as a Eucharistic minister, cantor and lector at St. Vincent de Paul church then as a Eucharistic minister at Holy Innocents; and,

WHEREAS, after high school, Ms Muraska studied to be a teacher and started her career at Lawrence Catholic Middle School where she taught for 7 years (four of which were as Vice Principal) before transferring to the Pittsburgh Public School system. She taught at Greenway Middle School, Connelly VO-Tech (Adult basic education program), Sterrett Classical Academy, Rogers Middles School for the Creative and Performing Arts, Letsche Alternative Education Center and the Student Achievement Center, for a total of 34 years before retiring in 2012. To this day, people around the city recognize her as teaching either themselves and/or their children, which always brings a smile to her face; and,

WHEREAS, in 2005, Marianne joined the Kiwanis where she has given countless hours of service to her community through her work with the Kiwanis Club of Sheraden and even more hours of service to the club itself when she became Club Secretary in 2007 and has kept the club in line and on task through her weekly updates and gentle reminders of upcoming deadlines; and,

WHEREAS, since around 2001, Marianne took on the task of updating the Sheraden community bulletin board, where, to this day, she faithfully posts event notices, creates colorful posters for every big event in the Sheraden community and has never once asked for help or financial compensation. Because of her service to the Sheraden Community, the members of the Sheraden Community Council and the members of the Kiwanis Club of Sheraden are honoring Ms. ...
