WHEREAS, Gary Namiotka has given over 38 years of service to the city of Pittsburgh, compiling time as a Laborer, Truck Driver, and Sweeper Operator; and,

WHEREAS, Namiotka helped fight some of the biggest snow storms Pittsburgh has ever seen, making our city safer and cleaner for the residents of Pittsburgh so that they can get to their jobs and get their children to school; and,
WHEREAS, Namiotka has worked for over five mayors, continuing to be a reliable hand to the 4th and 5th Divisions, operating all machinery Public Works has asked of him, adapting and reinventing his work when the times called for it; and,
WHEREAS, Namiotka is an avid fisherman, and plans to do a lot of travelling with his wife Sherry and daughter Alyssa in his retirement, going and leaving as he pleases soaking up the fruits of his admirable labor to the city of Pittsburgh for almost four decades; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mr. Namiotka for his hard work and leadership over the past 38 years and congratulates him on a well-deserved retirement; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, to be “Gary Namiotka Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
