Title: WHEREAS, the late Mr. Patrick W. Quinn of Mount Washington, who passed away on March 20, 2021, believed in the importance of family and giving back to the community; and,

WHEREAS, the late Mr. Patrick W. Quinn of Mount Washington, who passed away on March 20, 2021, believed in the importance of family and giving back to the community; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Quinn served over 30 years coaching baseball and girls’ softball, and football for the Brookline Knights and Bishop Canevin High School. During those years, he became a mentor to many young people, always emphasizing the importance of teamwork and hard work; and,

 

WHEREAS, Patrick also served as President of the Board of Mt. Washington Recreation Center (formerly known as REAM) and was on the Board of Directors of the Washington Heights Athletic Association as well as serving as the commissioner of the Legion League Golf Club on Mt. Washington; and,

 

WHEREAS, Patrick received his B.A. in 1977 and his J.D. in 1984, both from Duquesne University, where he was an All-American defensive end for the Dukes’ football team; and,

 

WHEREAS, his career in law was spent in the public sector. He was the Administrator of the Family Division of The Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County since 2003, and has served previously in the Allegheny County Solicitor’s Office as the Manager of the Department of Human Services Legal Unit and Child Support Legal Services Unit, and was the Deputy Administrator of the Allegheny County Family Division; and,

 

WHEREAS, he has also served on many local and national boards and associations in an effort to improve the family court system, and domestic relations and served as an adjunct instructor for the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement Training Institute of Penn State University; and,

 

WHEREAS, the late Mr. Quinn was a loving husband to Audrey and loving father to Shawn, Tim, Casey and Shanna and an adoring grandfather to Ava, Brody, Harper, Colton, Lilly and Callum; and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby honor the memory of Patrick Quinn; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 30, 2021 to be “the late Mr. Patrick W. Quinn Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
