Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning are hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and/or an amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) in support of the American Cities Climate Challenge. The Project is an initiative to create healthier and more prosperous cities by supporting a critical mass of the most populous cities in meeting or exceeding their city’s equivalent of the U.S. emission reduction targets under the Paris Climate Agreement. The partnership between NRDC and the City will support bold solutions that can be replicated by other municipalities nationwide and around the world to advance local economic prosperity and reduce pollution. The MOU(s) shall be at no cost to the City.

Section 2.                     Said MOU(s) shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form and substance.
