WHEREAS, Samuel James Senkowicz, of Scout Troop 109, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting based on responsibility, leadership, service and outdoor skills; and,

WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout service project, Samuel built six little libraries for Reading Ready Pittsburgh and installed them at various sites; and,
WHEREAS, Samuel installed a library at the “House of Soul” restaurant and in front of the Homestead Library near the Braddock Free Store. During the COVID Pandemic, the additional libraries will be held in storage until sites become available; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Eagle Scout Samuel James Senkowicz for his outstanding achievement of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, March 14, 2021 to be “Eagle Scout Samuel James Senkowicz Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
