Title: WHEREAS, Cynthia Falls started her journey as a healthcare professional and educator at the age of 15 while serving as a Nurse's Aid at Kane Hospital in Scott Township; and,

WHEREAS, Cynthia Falls started her journey as a healthcare professional and educator at the age of 15 while serving as a Nurse's Aid at Kane Hospital in Scott Township; and,

WHEREAS, Cynthia Falls worked for Kane Hospital after graduating high school and through perseverance was elevated to the position of Charge Medicine Nurse, while simultaneously earning an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC); and,

WHEREAS, Cynthia Falls earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) at Penn State University while working full time, and went on to serve as a geriatric nurse for twenty (20) years; and,

WHEREAS, Cynthia Falls brought her extensive experience as a healthcare professional to the classroom when she became a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Health Careers instructor with the Pittsburgh Public Schools District in 1992, serving at Pittsburgh Oliver High School for three years before transferring to Pittsburgh Carrick High School, where she served for 15 years; and,

WHEREAS, during her tenure as a CTE Health Careers Technology instructor, Cynthia Falls was instrumental in setting up work-based learning internships and job shadowing experiences for her students at Southside Hospital, Children's Institute, Mercy Hospital, Baldwin EMS, and Pleasant Hills Hospital to name a few; and,

WHEREAS, students in Cynthia Falls' CTE Health Careers Technology program went on to have successful careers as medical assistants, registered nurses, nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, school nurses, physicians and more; and,

WHEREAS, Cynthia Falls became a member of the Pittsburgh Public Schools Board of Directors in 2013 and was appointed to serve as the Board's CTE Liaison in 2016, providing invaluable support and advocacy for career and technical education programs, students and teachers;
