Ordinance amending the City of Pittsburgh Code of Ordinances at Title I: Administrative; Article XI: Human Resources; Chapter 183: Holidays; Section 183.01 Holidays Designated to designate Juneteenth as a holiday for City of Pittsburgh employees.

WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh (the “City”) has determined that Juneteenth shall be a City holiday; and

 

WHEREAS, City Council wishes to amend the Code of Ordinances of the City to provide for Juneteenth as a holiday for City employees.

 

 

The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Pittsburgh Code, Title I: Administrative; Article XI: Human Resources; Chapter 183: Holidays; Section 183.01 Holidays Designated shall be amended as follows:

 

Except as otherwise provided in collective bargaining agreements, all City employees shall be entitled to the following holidays or equal time off duty with pay. The holidays shall be:

New Year's Day

Martin Luther King's Birthday

Good Friday

Memorial Day

Juneteenth

Independence Day

Labor Day

Veterans' Day

Thanksgiving Day

The day after Thanksgiving Day

Christmas Day
