Resolution authorizing a Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh in connection with the URA’s application for a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant of up to $1,500,000 for the Former Homewood School project. (Council District 9).

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with Urban Redevelopment Authority in order to receive a grant from the Pennsylvania Budget Office Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program in the amount of ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND ($1,500,000.00) dollars for the purpose of renovating the Homewood Park. Monies from the grant agreement shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund account 4029400338.45505.00.

 

Section 2.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are further authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, and/or a Contract or Contracts, or utilize existing Agreements or Contracts, not to exceed ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND ($1,500,000.00) dollars for the purpose of renovating the Homewood Park under the terms of the agreement between the City of Pittsburgh, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and the Commonwealth.  Costs are chargeable to and payable from the Grants Trust Fund account 4029400338.50000.00.  The grant requires a 1:1 match comprised of THREE HUNDRED TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND ($327,000.00) dollars from the Urban Redevelopment Authority and ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE THOUSAND ($1,173,000.00) dollars from the City’s 2020 Capital Budget, Homewood Park Construction line item for this stated purpose for a total project cost of THREE MILLION ($3,000,000.00) dollars.
