Resolution providing for a Professional Services Agreement(s) and/or Contract(s) with Rehrig Pacific Company for the manufacturing and distribution of recycling containers, and provision of containers for the payment thereof, at a cost not to exceed $1,351,000.

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh desires to achieve less recycling contamination, move to a containerized system, and provide all curbside recycling locations containers;

 

WHEREAS, the Office of Management & Budget issued an RFP for these services and;

 

WHEREAS, this new service will provide the City with reliable, City issued recycling containers of 5% post-consumer plastic resin, and allow the City to increase diversion while moving away from a bag based collection program, which produces less litter and contamination at the recycling processing facility;

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Professional Services Agreement(s) and/or Contract(s) with Rehrig Pacific Company for the manufacturing and distribution for recycling containers, and provision of containers for the payment thereof, at a cost not to exceed $1,351,000 chargeable to and payable from the following capital budget and grant accounts:
