Resolution authorizing the City to enter into an agreement or agreements with Point Park University to allow students, under teacher supervision, to provide creative and strategic services on a volunteer basis to the City on an on-going, project specific basis, such as for marketing for 2020 census outreach.

WHEREAS, Point Park University has created an external marketing program staffed entirely by students in the School of Communications known as Wood Street Communications through which the Students will provide creative and strategic services on a volunteer basis including, but not limited to, marketing, events planning, graphic design, logo design, website design, branding services, photography, videography, reporting or writing; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh may wish to use the creative and strategic services of those Students, at no cost to the City, on an on-going, project specific basis, and will decide to accept the students’ product on an “as is” basis or to decline to use the work product; now therefore:   

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Public Works are authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements with Point Park University to allow students, under teacher supervision, to provide creative and strategic services on a volunteer basis to the City on an on-going, project specific basis, such as for marketing for 2020 census outreach.  Services may include, but are not limited to, marketing, events planning, graphic design, logo design, website design, branding services, photography, videography, reporting or writing.  The Agreement or agreements will allow the City to accept the students’ product on an “as is” basis or to decline to use the work product. 

 

Section 2.                     The agreements or agreements and amendments are subject to the approval of the City Solicitor as to form.
