Title: Now Therefore, I WILLIAM PEDUTO, by the virtue of the authority vested in me by the Home Rule Charter of the City of Pittsburgh and laws of the City of Pittsburgh, hereby direct all of the following: 1. Effective as of 12:01 a.m. on June 5, 2020 and subject to applicable law including, but not limited to, rights granted under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and the executive orders of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, it is the policy of the City of Pittsburgh to encourage postponement and cancellation of all community or public gatherings in excess of 250 people. Organizers of events are advised to consult guidelines of the CDC, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Allegheny County Health Department before planning any event. 2. This Order rescinds Executive Orders 2020-001 and 2020-002. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately and remain in effect until amended or rescinded in writing by the Mayor.

WHEREAS, on March 13, 2020, the Mayor issued a Declaration of Emergency in accordance with City of Pittsburgh Code ?113.03 and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Services Code, 35 Pa. C.S. ??7101 et seq., as it pertains to the existing public health emergency associated with the spread of coronavirus known as "COVID-19"; and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor issued the Declaration of Emergency to encourage aggressive social mitigation efforts and to allow the City of Pittsburgh to take measures to reduce the possibility of exposure to COVID-19 and to promote the health and safety of City of Pittsburgh residents; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor also issued Executive Orders 2020-001 and 2020-002; and,

WHEREAS, on Friday, May 29, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, under the guidance of the Department of Health (DOH), using their authority under the state's COVID-19 disaster declaration order, issued an Order moving Allegheny County, amongst others, into the "Green Phase of Reopening" beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020; and,

WHEREAS, in counties moving to the "Green Phase of Reopening" under Governor Wolf's Order, which include Allegheny County, restaurants and bars may resume dine-in operations in both indoor and outdoor seating areas, professional sports teams may resume practice and games without on-site or in-venue spectators with a COVID-19 safety plan in place, and any large gathering, whether planned or spontaneous, may not exceed 250 people, and all of these activities must occur in accordance with guidelines issued by the State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and,

WHEREAS, these preventative measures are ways that all residents can play their part in preventing the spread of COVID-19; and,

WHEREAS, in furtherance of the Governor Tom Wolf's directive and limiting the spread of COVID-19, the Mayor is issuing this order.
