WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Pittsburgh honors and appreciates the service of our veterans, and,
WHEREAS, Harry Hughes was raised in the Bloomfield neighborhood, and,
WHEREAS, Harry Hughes honorably served our country for 22 years as a service member in the United States Navy, and,
WHEREAS, as Senior Enlisted Leader, Harry Hughes lead 94 military officers and 10 civilians in day-to-day medical logistic operations, and,
WHEREAS, Harry Hughes achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2014, and,
WHEREAS, Harry Hughes retired from the United States Navy on October 31st, 2019; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Harry Hughes for his service to our country.
