WHEREAS, the City's Department of City Planning includes a Public Art + Civic Design division, which seeks to introduce new and innovative public art programs around the City of Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, the Allegheny Regional Asset District ("RAD") has invested in the creation and preservation of regional public assets and institutions since 1995; and

WHEREAS, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of RAD's funding programs, a "RADical ImPAct Grant" was created to assist current RAD Assets in the creation of bold and inspiring projects; and

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh cooperated with Allegheny County in a joint application to this grant; and

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County were together awarded a grant of 1.5 million dollars to fund public art programs, of which $500,000 is allocated for use by the City of Pittsburgh, and

WHEREAS, the City's award will fund five (5) public art projects in 2020, in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) each, one in each RAD Asset City Park, those being Emerald View Park, Frick Park, Highland Park, Riverview Park, and Schenley Park; and

WHEREAS, the City's award will additionally fund five (5) public art projects in 2021, in the amount of Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($75,000) each, one in each RAD Asset City Park, those being Emerald View Park, Frick Park, Highland Park, Riverview Park, and Schenley Park, these being on a larger scale and meant to act as signature works of art for each of these parks; and
