Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Marty Langford for his commitment to the Westside Mustangs Youth Athletic Association and to the youth in the City of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, August 27, 2019, to be "Marty Langford Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Martin “Marty” Langford is the youngest of 4 children born to Will and Glennie Langford; and,

 

WHEREAS, Marty graduated from Langley High School where he obtained the nickname “Iron Head” and was considered to be a standout player in both football and basketball. Marty continued to succeed athletically while attending Utah State University Eastern, and much later playing semi-Pro football for the Carnegie Bulldogs; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Langford was elected to be President of the Westside Mustangs Youth Athletic Association in District 2 and currently coaches the Westside Mustangs. He generously gives his time and often his own money to benefit children and families, recently helping to raise funds to provide children with new bikes; and,

 

WHEREAS, in addition, Mr. Langford began a mentoring program and Pittsburgh Langley K-8 to help improve the quality of life for students. He works tirelessly to assist the youth to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy choices and has worked to build a great working relationship between the City of Pittsburgh Police and the community; and,

 

WHEREAS, in addition to his volunteerism, Mr. Langford is the CEO of 412 Entertainment, LLC and President of JG Trucking Company and has a beautiful daughter named Courtney; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Marty Langford for his commitment to the Westside Mustangs Youth Athletic Association and to the youth in the City of Pittsburgh; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, August 27, 2019, to be “Marty Langford Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
