Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby celebrate Anna Conlon Lynn on the milestone of her 100th Birthday and commend Anna for her commitment to her family and her community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, June 11, 2019 to be "Anna B. Conlon Lynn Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on June 11, 1919, Anna Bernice (Conlon) Lynn was born to John J. and Eleanor Conlon of Denny Street in Pittsburgh’s 6th ward; and,

 

WHEREAS, Anna was the second of six children - Catherine, Regis, John, Bernadette, and Thomas - in a boisterous Irish Catholic family; she attended and graduated from Langley High School and, a few years later, married the late John F. “Jack” Lynn on February 3, 1943; the couple had three children - Tualane Thomas, Ann Bruscemi, and John Lynn; and,

 

WHEREAS, Anna worked at the Hilton as a telephone operator for 25 years, always calling the Sheraden area of the City of Pittsburgh home; her three children grew and married, giving her six grandchildren (Mike Bruscemi, Loraine Bickel, Denise Capozoli, Matthew Lynn, Brian Lynn, and Kelsey Lynn) and seven great-grandchildren (Brittany & Conner Capozoli; Amanda, Carly & Alexis Bruscemi; and Joseph “JJ” & Samuel Bickel); and,

 

WHEREAS, always a hard worker, Anna has always put her family first and is enormously caring to others; she still lives in Sheraden and enjoys crocheting, bingo, working the polls, traveling with friends, playing cards, watching the Pirates, and being involved in the community and at Holy Innocents Church; and,

 

WHEREAS, the esteem she is held in is evident today as her family celebrated her 100th birthday with a surprise party at Clever Park on June 9 with her many friends to honor her; and,

 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby celebrate Anna Conlon Lynn on the milestone of her 100th Birthday and commend Anna for her commitment to her family and her community; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, June 11, 2019 to be “Anna B. Conlon Lynn Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
