Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) and/or the Department of Innovation and Performance (I&P) on behalf of the City, to enter into an agreement or agreements with various entities, in order to receive data sets or access to data sets or visualization platforms that further the City’s ability to deliver services to residents.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Owners, collectors, or aggregators of data intend to provide cities with data at no cost to the City in either historic or real time formats, collaborate with key stakeholders and manage innovation; and

 

WHEREAS, entities that are willing to provide data to the City may require that City consent to certain terms of use in order to access this digital platform or to receive datasets; and

 

WHEREAS, certain City data would be contributed to the datasets assembled by said entities; and

 

WHEREAS, the City now wishes to enter into an agreement or agreements with various entities in order to allow the City to access or receive datasets that may include certain terms of use.

 

THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1. The Mayor and Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) and/or the Department of Innovation and Performance (I&P) on behalf of the City, are authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements with various entities, in order to receive data sets or access to data sets or visualization platforms that further the City’s ability to deliver services to residents.

 

Section 2.  This resolution does not authorize entering into an agreement or agreements involving the appropriation or expenditure of City funds in order to receive data sets or access to datasets or visualization platforms.

 

Section 3. All agreements shall be approved by Council.
