Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Allegheny General Hospital, its Auxiliary organization, the Northside Leadership Conference, and our students and teachers, for their commitment to educating local youth and making their lives safer through the Stranger Awareness Program; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the month of May 2019, to be "Stranger Awareness Month" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, during the month of May, Allegheny General Hospital Auxiliary and the Allegheny General Hospital-Northside Leadership Conference Partnership co-sponsor Stranger Awareness programs; and

WHEREAS, the disappearance and murder of East Allegheny resident Scott Drake was the catalyst for the Stranger Awareness program on Pittsburgh's Northside; and

WHEREAS, in its eighteenth year, students in Pittsburgh Martin Luther King PreK-8 received two days of instruction on April 5th and April 25th from Brashear High School, Perry High School, and Carrick High School students focusing on the importance of Stranger Awareness; and

WHEREAS, on Friday, May 3rd, 2019, the program will conclude with a performance for students by Josh and Gab, a nationally known children's music duo; and

WHEREAS, the following individuals and organizations have offered support and partnered with this year's Stranger Awareness event:
