WHEREAS, the Amen Corner is a prestigious organization whose purpose is to encourage camaraderie, fraternity and relationships amongst people of all walks of life and honor those who have devoted their lives to improving our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Amen Corner has been honoring members of the Judiciary of Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 50 years as well as members of the Allegheny County Bar Association; and,
WHEREAS, the 59th Annual Judicial Reception will honor Dean Maureen Lally-Green with the prestigious Judge James R. McGregor Award for Exceptional Contributions to the Community; and,
WHEREAS, Dean Maureen Lally-Green, a graduate of Duquesne University Law School where she served on the Law Review, served on the Pennsylvania Superior Court after an appointment by Governor Tom Ridge and after re-election served a full term. Lally-Green then served the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh as Associate General Secretary and Director of the Office of Church Relations; and,
WHEREAS, Dean Maureen Lally-Green has lead a proclaimed and very diverse career, and has practiced law privately as well as for large corporations such as Westinghouse Electric, has worked as a Professor at Duquesne University and has been published in a variety of Law Reviews;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Dean Maureen Lally-Green on receiving the Judge James R. McGregor Award for Exceptional Contributions to the Community for his dedication to our community; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 to be “Dean Maureen Lally-Green Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
