Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Korey Freyermuth for her athletic accomplishments and thank her for her service to the City of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 to be "Korey Freyermuth Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Korey Freyermuth, daughter of Ron and Karen Freyermuth, was recognized in the Penn State Beaver Athletic Department’s newly formed Hall of Honor during the Athletics Spirit Weekend February 9, 2019; and,

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Freyermuth is a native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Perry Traditional Academy. She attended Penn State Beaver from 2009-2013; and,

 

WHEREAS, during her years at Penn State, she played softball for 4 seasons as a pitcher and 3rd baseman and set three Penn State Beaver school records. From the mound, she earned a career ERA of 2.58 with 453 strikeouts and 55 wins, and in the offensive side, she batted over 400 in her senior season with 24 career homeruns; and,

 

WHEREAS, Korey received numerous awards for her accomplishments including 3 consecutive United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All American Awards and (USCAA) Player of the Week four times in her career, 3 Penn State University All Conference (PSUAC) awards, 2 Pitcher of the Year awards as well as being named PSUAC Player of the Week and/or Pitcher of the Week 9 times; and,

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Freyermuth also helped her team to win back to back Championships in 2012 and 2013; and,

 

WHEREAS, Korey graduated in 2013 with a degree in Administration of Justice and is currently working as a Paralegal in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office and she was also elected as Committeewoman for District 1 of the 28th Ward; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Korey Freyermuth for her athletic accomplishments and thank her for her service to the City of Pittsburgh; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 to be “Korey Freyermuth Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
