WHEREAS, Helen Rowda Goettmann was born in the North Side of Pittsburgh on March 19^th, 1919; and,

WHEREAS, Helen decided to stay on the Northside, where she had her son, Dennis Goettmann; and

WHEREAS, Helen worked at the H.J. Heinz Company for 30 years until she retired; and,

WHEREAS, one of her biggest joys in life was driving her Oldsmobile; and,

WHEREAS, Helen attributes her long life to walking every single day. The only things that stopped her from her every day walks was knee problems that she developed; and,

WHEREAS, today, March 19, 2019, Helen is celebrating her 100^th birthday. Reaching 100 is a great milestone to be proud of; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 19, 2019 to Tuesday, March 26, 2019 to be “Happy Birthday Helen Rowda Goettmann Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.
