WHEREAS, the Spartan Community Center of Hazelwood, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; and
WHEREAS, the Spartan Community Center is based in the Hazelwood neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, it’s home to neighborhood-based, community-focused programming, and hosts such activities out of its location at 134 E. Elizabeth St., Pittsburgh, PA 15207; and
WHEREAS, the Spartan Community Center, as an Applicant acting through the instructions of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended, desires to host small games of chance and / or conduct related fundraisers that include, but are not limited to: Nights at the Races, raffles and drawings, auctions, benefit dinners, benefit dances, benefit concerts, bingo, and table games, to be scheduled, organized, and managed throughout the year as its operations merit.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Spartan Community Center of Hazelwood, Inc. as a civic and service organization within the appropriate context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
