WHEREAS, Allderdice High School, the largest of the Pittsburgh Public School’s urban high schools, has drawn students from nine diverse communities and offers academic programs at all levels, complimented by a full range of interscholastic, intramural and co-curricular clubs; and,
WHEREAS, Allderdice High School has a history of pride and commitment in its sports endeavors and achievements but the Allderdice Football Team has now won Back to Back City League Football Championships for the first time ever; and,
WHEREAS, through skilled and dedicated coaching and through individual commitment, hard work and team loyalty, the Allderdice Football Team posted a record of 7-5 with a win vs Westinghouse in the 2018 City Championships. Last year was the first championship in over 50 years, so to win it again this year tells a story of how hard the players have worked and how dedicated everyone is to the team; and,
WHEREAS, the team, led by Head Coach and Coach of the Year Jerry Haslett and Assistant Coaches Mark Matson, Dennis Robinson, Mario Watkins, Brandon Pezzelle, Reggie Robinson, Josh Cohen and William Graham and Athletic Trainer, Brandon Mazza consists of Dalen Dugger, Dijon Hall, Maurice Boatwright, Ramon White, Shakur Pack-Adams, Gerrelle Porter, Andrew Williams, Blaize Guzel, Elijah Robertson, Rashawn Harvey, Rashaun Caldwell, Noah Brown, Chris Dotson, Henry Bump, Nazir Darwin, Malik Marmon, Daquan Hill, William Tooks, Keyshawn Hodge, Saveionne Randolph, Latrell Childs, Mike Jackson, Denzel Gatewood, Latrell Knight, Marcel Holyfield, Antwan Peterson, Julian Luna, Liam Williams, Xavier Daniels, Vevante McCall, Thomas Albright, Eric McClung, Josh Berger, Kenny Hardin, Steve Henderson, Paris Glenn, Dauren Gatewood, Seth Jackson, Shane McKown, Peter Kubiak, Owen Smith, Justin Salmon, Solomon Johnston, Joey Maslanka, Shawn Cribbs, Micah Graham, Daniel Valukevich, Gary Ragan, and Elijah Thompson; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the hard work and commitment shown by the Allderdice Football Team and commends the trust and dedication shown by the Coaches and Assistant Coaches and congratulates them on winning the 2018 City League Football Championship with special commendation for winning Back to Back City League Championships for 2017 and 2018; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, December 11, 2018, to be “ALLDERDICE FOOTBALL CITY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
