Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Public Safety to enter on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh into financial and “in-kind” Sponsorship Agreements for the City’s Office of Special Events’ 2019 Season.

WHEREAS, each year the City’s Office of Special Events presents various free and low cost entertainment options to the public, including free movie screenings in parks, free classical and jazz concerts, various festivals, several community 5K races, and farmers’ markets; and

 

WHEREAS, various businesses and groups are willing to provide financial and material support for these various community programs in exchange for sponsorship opportunities and the City of Pittsburgh is will to accept such arrangements.

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Public Safety are authorized to enter on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh into financial and “in-kind” sponsorship agreements with various businesses and groups for the City of Pittsburgh Office of Special Events’ 2019 Season. As authorized hereunder, the City will provide opportunities for promotion, recognition and other benefits in exchange for support by goods, services, and/or cash.

 

Section 2.                     All financial contributions received under the financial and in-kind sponsorship agreements referenced herein will be deposited into the Special Events Trust Fund 5000731400.48106.00.
