Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Judy Robinson for her commitment and dedication to NA'AMAT and the Jewish Community and congratulates her on being honored at the Annual Spiritual Adoption / Scholarship Fundraising Dinner from NA'AMAT USA Pittsburgh Council; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, November 8, 2018, to be "Judy Robinson Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, NA'AMAT USA is part of a worldwide organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for all women, children and families in Israel by promoting gender equality, religious pluralism, the status of women at home and in the workplace and the prevention of domestic violence. The organization is dedicated to providing financial and emotional support for the children of Israel - from newborns to university graduates - through a spiritual adoption, and helps people provide funds necessary to send children to a world-renowned NA'AMAT Daycare Center where they are fed three hot meals a day and are nurtured by trained teachers and counselors; and,

WHEREAS, this year, NA'AMAT USA Pittsburgh Council will hold its Annual Spiritual Adoption / Scholarship Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Congregation Beth Shalom where it will honor Judy Robinson for her contribution and commitment to NA'AMAT USA; and,

WHEREAS, Judy Robinson, born and raised in Pittsburgh, is an award winning poet, editor, teacher and fiction writer, A 1980 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, she is listed in the Directory of American Poets and Writers. Judy has participated in many charitable and community activities, including the Holocaust Commission, JFilm, the Rauh Jewish Archives, Community Day School and Women's American Technion Society among others. Her personal values align with the mission and vision of NA'AMAT, believing strongly in supporting women and children in Israel; and,
