Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 4, 2018 to be "Nadine Masagara-Taylor Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, The Corner, a program of Friendship Community Church, has served as a safe space for culture and community for the neighborhoods of West Oakland, Oak Hill and the Hill District for the past 7 years, and has always opened its doors to the greater Pittsburgh community; and,

 

WHEREAS, Nadine Masagara-Taylor is the Executive Director of The Corner, and has worked tirelessly in the community over a period of years; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Masagara-Taylor is always pleasant and helpful to anyone seeking her assistance in the community, including the children of the after school program; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Masagara-Taylor is the wife of Quinzale, and mother of two children, Christian and Corrine; and,

 

WHEREAS, in addition to serving as the Executive Director of The Corner, Mrs. Masagara-Taylor is also a member of the Friendship Community Church on Robinson Street in West Oakland; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 4, 2018 to be “Nadine Masagara-Taylor Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
