WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station was built in 1901 and became an Historic Landmark in 1974; and,
WHEREAS, in 1978,the late restaurateur Chuck Muer renovated the station with elegant stained glass, marble columns and a majestic staircase and appropriately named his new undertaking Grand Concourse; and,
WHEREAS, Grand Concourse is one of the most stunning and historically rich venues in the city, which has made it a premier setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners and other special events; and,
WHEREAS, they have received numerous awards such as Best Breakfast from Savor Pittsburgh, Best Brunch in Pittsburgh, by Pittsburgh Magazine and Choice Award for Best Ambiance from Open Table and consistently receive excellent ratings by Trip Advisor receiving the Certificate of Excellence; and,
WHEREAS, Grand Concourse restaurant is a true indication of grandeur and elegant dining and remains one of the best seafood restaurants in the city; and,
WHEREAS, Grand Concourse celebrates its 40th Anniversary on Wednesday, August 15 with its award winning cuisine and live entertainment; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Grand Concourse as it celebrates its 40th Anniversary; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Wednesday, August 15, 2018, to be “Grand Concourse Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
