Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Rev. Richardson for his life dedicated to preaching and teaching The Word of God; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, August 11, 2018, to be "Rev. Lacy Richardson Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Lacy F. Richardson was born in Lyndhurst, VA. He is the youngest of six and only son born to the late Lacy and Roxie Richardson. The love of God has always been a vital influence in his life, having a grandfather in the ministry; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Richardson was educated in the McKeesport Public Schools and graduated from McKeesport Vo-Tech School. He received a football scholarship to Eldorado Junior College in Kansas in pursuit of an engineering degree. Continue his education at Penn State University for Design Drafting, received Bachelor of Theology Degree from Ohio Christian College; B.A. Degree in Sociology and Master of Social Work Degree from University of Pittsburgh and Ph.D. Degree from the International Bible Seminary, Summa Cum Laude. He is a Pennsylvania Licensed Social Worker; and,

WHEREAS, His spiritual roots were developed in Bethlehem Baptist Church in McKeesport, PA. There he served in the capacity of Youth Church Assistant, Choir Member, Sunday school Teacher and Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday School. He received the call and was licensed to preach on December 27, 1970 and was ordained in 1971. He has pastured three churches in Pennsylvania until called to Metropolitan Baptist Church in 1981 were he has served for 37 years; and,

WHEREAS, He has served in many capacities, organized and received numerous accolades for his service over the years. His favorite scripture is, "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh, when no man can work." John 9:4; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Richardson is married to Regina (Crick) Richardson. She is a retired payroll specialist after 35 years in the Ringgold School District Central Office. They are the proud parents of four children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pastor Richardson is a devoted and diligent servant of God.
