Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mrs. Grinage for being a pillar not just to her church, but to her community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 17, 2018, to be "Doris Grinage Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Doris (Carter) Grinage was born April 16, 1928 in Bedford County, VA.  She was married to the late Charles “Chuck” Grinage for 39 years and 8 months from October 1948 until June 1988; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Grinage is a member of The Modern Grandmothers Club Inc. which celebrated 70 years of existence in 2017.  She is also a faithful member of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross for 60 years, and has been a choir member for 42 years; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Grinage served as the Parish Administrator for The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross from 1970 until 2012; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Grinage is a very faithful woman who still serves her family, friends, and the Homewood community.  To those who have had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her are truly blessed to have someone of her stature in their lives to this day; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. Grinage is a mother of 3 (1 daughter 2 sons), a grandmother of 3, great-grandmother of 2, and great-great grandmother of 3; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mrs. Grinage for being a pillar not just to her church, but to her community; and,
