Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend the Honorees of the Pittsburgh Service Summit; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 27, 2018, to be "PITTSBURGH SERVICE SUMMIT DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Service Summit is an event that brings together hundreds of students, young professionals and community leaders to learn about best practices and strategies to make a larger difference in the region and to honor those people who have demonstrated leadership and commitment to civic engagement; and,

WHEREAS, this year, the 9th Pittsburgh Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit will be held on March 27, 2018 at Carlow University featuring Wilkinsburg Mayor Marita Garett and City of Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert as Keynote Speakers ;and,

WHEREAS, the Get Involved! Man of the Year 2018 Honoree will be Gregg Behr and the Get Involved! - Woman of the Year - 2018 Honoree will be Jackie Dixon. Both awards are presented to community leaders who are active and passionate members of non-profit boards and organizations and who give sweat equity to improve the community and help others ;and,

WHEREAS, the male and female Emerging Leader Awards given to young professionals who give their time and talent to worthwhile causes at work and school will go to Khalil Darden and Chelsea Gasparich. The Dr. Tom Baker Community Leader Award presented in memory of Dr. Thomas A. Baker to honor a passionate, energetic and positive community champion goes to Julius Boatwright and the "The Patty Award", the Patty Verostko Award for Child Advocacy Award given to a person who shares their commitment to improving the lives of children will go to Patricia Vince; and,

WHEREAS, the 2018 Western PA Rising stars include Kory Antonacci, Jordan Ball, Akil Blount, Jeff Brown, Brian Burley, Colton Chandler, Kenny Chen, Keyva Clark, Catie Cohn, Correy Dandoy, Anna Detwiler, Pamela Eichenbaum, Michelle Gapsky, Maggie Giel, Timothy Jones, Kelly Nestman Lockwood, Na-Tasha McClain-Hubbard, Kevin McNair, Alaa Mohammed, Arthur Pang, Bhavini Patel, Andrea Stanford and Anna Tang; and,
