WHEREAS, Luigi Caruso immigrated to the United States on March 8, 1959, and established himself as a beloved business owner in Mount Lebanon; and,
WHEREAS, after taking over the barbershop in 1972 from his brother, Mr. Caruso spent more than four decades as the owner and operator of Caruso Brothers Barbershop; and,
WHEREAS, not only is Mr. Caruso recognized and truly appreciated for providing reliable service and excellent haircuts, but customers - many of whom who were lifelong customers - loved the old school and comfortable environment that Mr. Caruso created in his barbershop. To many customers, a trip to Caruso Brothers Barbershop was more than to just receive a haircut, it was a chance to see a good friend; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Caruso was committed not only to the work that he loved, but the people he served in his community, as well. He was devoted to giving back to his neighborhood, going out of his way to help others, and taking time for other people. His steadfast resolve for improving the lives of others through many different ways was an inspiration to family and friends alike; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Caruso’s hard work and dedication is a shining example of the American Dream. Through perseverance and a genuine passion for his work, Mr. Caruso has been able to provide for those he loves; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Mr. Caruso for his devotion to his family, friends, customers, and communities throughout the region; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare March 5, 2018, to be “LUIGI CARUSO OF CARUSO BROTHERS BARBERSHOP DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
