Title

Resolution amending Resolution number 823 of 1989, entitled “Creating a trust fund for the payment of the City of Pittsburgh's Workers' Compensation obligations and providing for the periodic transfer of funds from code accounts presently in existence to the trust fund for the payment of the City's Workers' Compensation obligations” in order to allow transfers from the Workers Compensation Medical Payment Trust Fund to the Workers Compensation VEBA Account.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  Resolution number 823 of 1989, entitled “Creating a trust fund for the payment of the City of Pittsburgh's Workers' Compensation obligations and providing for the periodic transfer of funds from code accounts presently in existence to the trust fund for the payment of the City's Workers' Compensation obligations” is hereby amended by adding a Section 4 as follows:

 

 

Section 1. The City Controller is hereby authorized and directed to create a Trust Fund entitled the City’s Workers’ Compensation Medical Payment Trust Fund.

 

Section 2.  The City Controller is authorized to transfer funds, upon receipt of Departmental Invoice, from any Workers' Compensation Code Account established in the Salary and Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City to the City's Workers' Compensation Medical Payment Trust Fund.

 

Section 3.  The City Controller is authorized to pay from the City's Workers' Compensation Medical Payment Trust Fund any medical bills incurred as a result of the City's Workers' Compensation Program.

 

Section 4.  The City Controller is authorized to transfer funds from the City’s Workers’ Compensation Medical Payment Trust Fund to the VEBA Workers’ Compensation account, JD Edwards Job Number 9993817000, in order to satisfy any required VEBA Workers’ Compensation payments or transfers.
