Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Pittsburgh native Kevin "Slim" Forsythe for his years of dedication to the City of Pittsburgh, and congratulate him on his upcoming retirement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, December 5th to be Kevin "Slim" Forsythe Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, a lifelong resident and lover of Pittsburgh, graduate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, recipient of many regional and national awards, and author of four novels, Kevin "Slim" Forsythe has had a long and illustrious career; and,

WHEREAS, Slim Forsythe began his work with the City of Pittsburgh in 1990 while working for the City Controllers Office as the Supervisor of Performance Auditing, and then PeopleSoft Manager; and

WHEREAS, in 2006, Slim left his job with the City to travel the United States and pursue his career as a musician and entertainer, during which time he produced several full length records, appeared on many local radio and television shows, and produced a film entitled "Live from Nied's Hotel" which received an Mid-Atlantic Emmy for Arts Program nomination in 2016; and

WHEREAS, in 2014, Slim returned home to Pittsburgh to work for the City's Office of Management and Budget, where he took on the role of Asset Management Manager, and in September was inducted into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, during his years of services to the Office of Management and Budget, Slim has been instrumental in numerous innovative changes in the City, including: the creation of a Five Year Fleet Acquisition Plan, implementing a successful auction process through GovDeals, holding "cost-avoidance auctions", and supporting the implementation of Electronic Vehicle conversion and creating city-wide charging infrastructure; and,

WHEREAS, the City Office of Management and Budget deeply appreciates Slim for the sense of liveliness, strong work ethic, and innovation he has brought to the department;
